my good friend D'Arcy asked me to do a guest post for her on a blog for mormon women that she contributes to called the exponent. she asked me to write about mormon women and depression and i wrote about my personal experiences with it. i tried to be as honest as possible. if you want to read it, go here.

That was wonderful to read Jo. Maybe that's an odd comment. But I think so many women feel that way and don't know how to describe it or ask for help. Others see someone behaving that way and don't understand. Thanks for your honesty. It will make me more caring and sensitive of others.

I loved reading your guest post. I think a lot of people that don't have depression just don't get it-how it feels. I had a bit of post-partum with my #4, and I felt like a completely different person, and it gave me a glimpse as to how it feels, albeit a little glimpse. Thank you for being honest in your post. And hey, if you ever need to just talk, or whatever, let me know-I'm just a phone call away!

P.S.-I picked up a brochure on the art classes; they have a few summer camps, etc., but they're kind of expensive. Go to this link, and then click on education, and then on art camps for children: www.theartmuseum.org It's for kids 6-11 years old.

That was amazing to read. My mother has suffered from severe clinical depression most of my life, at least as long as I can remember. I am really only starting to understand the things that she has been through, but reading your experiences helped me so much. I think you are a brave and strong woman.
