my new life

stephanie nielson is my inspiration. i'm not going to pretend that my battle with depression is anything like the trials and struggles that she goes through, but i draw strength from her example just the same. my new life and my new world is one with depression in it. hers is one with scars and surgeries and things i can't even comprehend. if i can face up to my trials and endure them half as well as she as hers, i'll call it good. she's amazing.

that was absolutely beautiful, jo. i'm so moved by her story and i can easily see how you draw inspiration from her. she has been so triumphant in transforming a horrible situation into a tool to teach the gospel. brave woman. thank you for sharing. :]

Though I'm not a regular reader of that blog, my wife is (of course!) and often reads me passages. I sat at work today watching that video and wept (sort of sly and sneaky like). She is such a testament to humanity and beauty, and strength in the face of a world that would make her weak.

Many prayers, thoughts, and positive energy towards you and the fight against depression. I think your openness and honesty is inspiring.

I just got done watching that video on Nie Nie's blog. It was amazing, and so are you. We each come to a turning point where we are faced with a new life to embrace or turn away from. I am so glad that you willingly teach us about your "new life" and how you have chosen to embrace it.

Thanks for posting this today. I get the Mormon messages on my email but most of the time I just put them in my church file and then forget about them which is what I did today. Then I saw you had written on your blog so I went to check it out and ended up watching the clip. I really needed that today too because I'm been having a little pity party for myself so THANKS! I think you're great!!!

She is amazing, as are you! I think we're all given different trials, and we're here to help each other out and to learn from one another, to draw on those that are strong when we're weak, and then we can give strength to others when we're feeling strong. You rock-never forget that!

I was reading in a book today how reading and learning about people who inspire us and we want to be like is a major step in accomplishing what they have accomplished.

Well done.
